Frequently Asked Questions
What is a doula?
In a nutshell, a doula means “woman servant”. This means that a doula’s responsibility is to serve women through physical, emotional, and informational support before, during, and after childbirth. This can look like many different things including (but not limited to):
answering questions
emotional support
formulating a birth plan
advocacy
pain managemt techniques
postpartum care
Are doula’s for home births or unmedicated births only?
Doula’s are for ANY birth- including medicated and c-sections!
How much do you charge?
I have various packages for different services, all of which are customizable to fit each persons needs. I don’t publicly post pricing, because each woman has a unique journey that requires individualized services. Contact me so we can work together to figure out what is best for you!
I already have a supportive birth partner, do I need a doula?
My favorite way to describe a doula is “your biggest hype-man” or “your hype-mans biggest hype-man”. I am equipped to help you with or without a birth partner, but even women who have supportive and hands-on birth partners find that I can be helpful to them by equipping both people equally.
